Growers is an all volunteer food-buying club in Eugene, Oregon for buying natural and organic foods. I have volunteered with them since moving to Eugene. Some of the most kind, compassionate people I have met in Eugene. Only open 3 days a week and parking can be rough. Best to bike if possible. Make sure you go through orientation on your first day so you get the basics: No credit cards! Cash/check/EBT only; bring your own containers; etc. This place is saving tons of packaging from going into landfills and providing people with healthy organic food at really reasonable prices. They've been around a long time.

Lots of good, fresh organic produce, & kind, friendly people volunteer & shop here. Member-owned, no shares you have to buy to shop, just go to a free orientation. Volunteer if you can, & you'll earn a discount.

The oldest all volunteer run food co-op in America, growers is an amazing treasure. It's tucked away, facing the railroad tracks. The hours are odd, so are the people, and it's an amazingly friendly and strange place. Upstairs, Growers has some office space that's rented out to socially progressive groups, providing much needed downtown soave at far below market rents groups that would otherwise never be able to afford it.

Growers Market is awesome! Most of the products there are cheaper than in normal stores since they are bought in bulk. Also you can volunteer there to earn "pumpkins" which will give you a little under a 15% discount on you're whole shopping cart. Speaking of volunteering, Growers Market is run entirely by volunteers which is really cool!
